Take the Grapeshot Feedback Survey to go into the draw for one of five double passes to see Winged Creatures.

Winged Creatures: Synopsis

A moment of random violence erupts in an ordinary Los Angeles diner. The survivors find that the meaning of their lives has changed and that they must find trust in a world that now seems unforgiving. No matter how much their families and friends attempt to understand, these individuals must follow their own paths to recovery.

Winged Creatures is a powerful ensemble drama, starring Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson. A story of tragedy and hope for our times, it explores the notion that our lives are fleeting, like birds in a fight, like winged creatures.

AUSTRALIA LIVE TV.com SEARCHES FOR TELEVISION HOSTS

Australia Live TV is set to shine the spotlight on the next top Australian television presenters.

The Adelaide-based internet television station is searching for up-and-coming, vibrant and passionate media personalities to host its ‘Mornings Live’ program.

Australia Live TV CEO John Begley said the national search would allow the Australian public to decide the future ‘Mornings Live’ hosts.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity for two young Australians to launch their media careers while being paid and trained,” Mr Begley said.

“We are expecting applicants to exude charisma and have a strong knowledge of current affairs, sport and entertainment.

“We have only just launched the competition and applicants have already been posting their audition tapes on You Tube.”

He said entrants needed to be effective communicators, informing and entertaining to the corporate demographic of viewers aged between 18 and 40.

“We are breaking new ground at Australia Live TV and are excited to be creating a new foundation for the next faces of television,” he said.

Australia Live TV was the first to stream a live internet sports show with the launch of ‘KG and The General’ earlier this year.

The pioneering station now has ‘Xtreme Sports Hour with Nathan Strempel’, and coming soon will be ‘Mornings Live’, worldwide sports “guru” ‘Mahatma Cote’, ‘Open House’ and ‘Travel TV’.

“It would be ideal if the future hosts of ‘Mornings Live’ have past radio, television or print media experience but we do not want to limit the possibility of uncovering new talent,” Mr Begley said.

“All applicants will be considered on experience, ability, enthusiasm, video presentation and last but not least, the support generated from public voting.”

The program will run weekdays from 8am to 10am and is set to hit cyberspace in September from the exclusive Chapel Lane Studios in Hindmarsh, South Australia.

Applications close on July 31, with interviews of promising entrants conducted in August.

For more information about the competition or to lodge an application follow the prompts at www.australialivetv.com.au.

I smell FOOD!

Callout for Issue 6: Food, glorious food!

Issue 6:
Reduced fat with no artificial colours or flavouring? In this issue we’re exploring the issues surrounding food. We all eat it, but do we really think about it? Why’d you choose to become vegetarian? Are the food supplies the world over really becoming scarce? Why is it that I can never remember where SuperDoopers are kept in the supermarket aisle? Is “organic” just another marketing gimmick? How ethical is the food we buy? What are your cultural traditions surrounding food? And the biggie… is it finally time to boycott Maccas once and for all? We want to know what food means to you and how it shapes the world around you. These are only suggestions … go crazy with your interpretations. So submit and contribute, you’ve got the whole mid-semester break to start (and complete) writing. Suggestions or reviews for cheap (or not so cheap) eats around Sydney are welcome too!
